3 Free Image Editing Programs For Amazing Real Estate Photos

By on July 1, 2015

We all know how important pictures are. They do value 1,000 words – maybe even more. But sometimes we don’t have the best camera or the best light and we have to do our best with what we have.

What if I told you that there are some free and easy to use software programs for you out there? What if I told you that even if you don’t know much about photo editing, you will be able to enhance your pictures?

We spend hours after hours online, often looking at photos from various domains and dreaming about what appear to be dream houses. And everything seems to be perfect in those photos. So how can one compete with those amazing photos?

The answer is very simple: by providing similar or better images. And, if you don’t have money to buy licenses for famous photo editing programs, don’t lose hope: there are some free ones out there perfect for you!

Perhaps one of the most famous free graphic design software, Canva is great because it also provides many tutorials. Yes, materials that will teach you a lot about the perfect photo and about how to obtain it. You can log-in using your Facebook or Google+ account, or you can create one based on an e-mail address you provide. You will find some challenges for you (aimed to help you enhance your photo editing skills), infographics with useful information and tips, various support materials that will help you turn your great photos into amazing eye-catching pictures.

This is an open-source software that’s been on the market for a while now. I admit I’ve been using Gimp for years now and, even if I am not a designer, I find it useful in my daily activities: resizing photos, a little bit of light or contrast adjustment here and there and so on. You have many photo editing options at your disposal and, if you don’t know how to obtain a certain effect or do a given change to a photo, you can simply look it up on-line, on a search engine, and you will find many helpful articles describing step-by-step what you need to do in order to achieve your goals and have the photo you as you desire.

This “tool” (it seems like it is a tool more than aprogram) is also on the market for a while now and it is really useful. It may not have clipart or funny options, but it really helps you crop, resize, adjust colors, light and contrast and do all sorts of changes and enhancements to your photos. Pixlr even has iOS and Android apps, so you can use it on mobile gadgets as well. It is easy to use, intuitive and looks a lot like a famous photo editing software. In their blog section you will find numerous useful tutorials.

Sure, there are many others such programs available on-line, so all you need to do is to find one that best suits your preferences. I included these three as recommendations as I tried them all – I started with Gimp, used a little Pixlr (sometimes I still do), used Canva (and learned a few tricks.)
